A northwest Missouri couple pleads not guilty to running a grain fraud scheme that allegedly cost 110 farmers more than 3 million dollars.
65 year old Daniel F. Froman and his wife, 64 year old Pauline K. Froman, of Gallatin pleaded yesterday to 8 charges, including conspiracy, fraud and theft. Prosecutors say the couple ran a Daviess County grain company that stored and brought grain from farmers. They allegedly sold the farmers' grain without their permission, wrongfully withheld proceeds and submitted false information to the state and federal government. The Fromans' trial is scheduled to begin June 27 federal court in Kansas City.
