Missouri senator Roy Blunt says he plans on being at the White House negotiations today as congressional leaders negotiate with the administration on the nation's deficit.
Today's meeting is a follow-up to a closed door session top politicians had on Tuesday, and Blunt says Republicans remain solid in their view that raising the debt limit must come with what he calls "Significant Structural Spending Reform". Blunt adds America is borrowing 4 billion dollars every day to operate programs. Democratic leaders are saying they will push for tax reforms to be back on the table during the ongoing discussions.
