The Missouri National Guard Unit in St. Joseph is playing a part in a National Emergency Exercise tomorrow.
The 139th airlift wing at Rosecrans is providing C-130 transport to FEMA during "Operation cracked earth" which will assess response and recovery capabilities both nationally and regionally in the event of a catastrophic earthquake in Missouri. Crews from the 139th will practice loading FEMA equipment and personnel at the regional airport in Columbia Missouri. The goal is to gauge how participants would react in case of a similar disaster.
