4 Maryville area students are advancing to the Missouri State math Contest after placing in regionals over the weekend.
In the concepts category for 5 graders, Sabrina Olson placed first and Jiale Zheng took second. Bethel Orshisio took second among 6th graders. In problem solving Olson took first and Zheng third. Jocelyn Clayton placed third among 6th graders. About 165 students representing 17 area schools participated in the annual competition, with first, second, and third place winners competing in the state finals contest on April 30th in Springfield.
