The city of Maryville takes the first step in re-doing a street that has literally gone to pot.
The city council has declared south depot "Blighted" clearing the way to apply for a $400,000 grant to partially pay for upgrades. Maryville city manager Matt LaCurf says with surface crumbling and inadequate drainage, it's time to do something. The total cost of the depot re-do is 1.7 million dollars. The township and county will also be helping the city pay for the upgrades.
