Mound City Vote

The Mound City School Board is voting tonight on becoming the next school district in the state to have a 4-day school week.

In 2009 Missouri lawmakers passed legislation that allowed districts to adopt a shortened schedule. 19 of Mound City's school weeks are already shortened or half weeks, and this would give students some more consistency, said superintended Ken Eaton. Eaton also says while money was the original driving force behind this idea, it is no longer a priority. The Mound City School District currently has 275 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
