James Autograph Selling

A Chicago Auction House is putting the only known signed photo of Jesse James on the auction block today.

Pre-auction estimates say it could fetch 20 to 30 thousand dollars. The photo shows James with slicked back hair and gazing away from the camera an angle. It's signed "JW James" and was sold out of the family after Jesse's widow willed it to her granddaughter. Director of the Jesse James Home Museum in St. Joseph Gary Chilcote says the outlaw rarely signed anything so determining its price is difficult. An official with the Chicago Auction House says the signature is similar to an authentic 2-page letter James signed on the front and back.
