News Brief

April 26, 2011NEBRASKA CITY, NE. |  By: Wayman

Saturated ground and even more rain is causing flood warnings to be posted for our region.

The largest concern is the Missouri River, where warnings are posted for Rulo, Nebraska City, Brownville, St. Joseph, and other locations in northwest Missouri and the state borders area. Minor flooding is being reported along the Missouri in all of these communities, with the river falling tomorrow morning but still above flood stage in many locations. Other parts of the state are seeing major flooding, including the St. Louis region around Cape Girardeau. Governor Nixon has activated the Missouri National Guard to help with threats to levees and flood response around the state, should that be necessary.
