DWI Checkpoint

We have learned law enforcement have scheduled two sobriety checks have for sometime in May which starts Sunday.

The Highway Patrol Headquarters out of St. Joseph says it will be looking for drunk drivers in both Buchanan and Nodaway counties sometime during the month. In Buchanan a checkpoint will be set up to ensure drivers aren't impaired. In Nodaway patrols will be doing a "saturation" event doubling down on the number of officers out and about and then stopping vehicles for violations. The patrol says both events are intended to keep lives safe both the drinkers and innocent travelers on Missouri's roads.
