The Albany Collection Center is now open for residents to recycle and to help area communities.

It's located at the corner of Mill and Railroad Streets, in Albany, and is open on Saturdays from 9 in the morning until 12:30. Albany economic developer Kathy Morgan says they will be collecting paper for Northwest Missouri State University for heating purposes, along with tin cans, and plastic for Hope Haven in Chillicothe. Once delivered to Hope Haven, the tin cans and plastic will be sorted, then sent to processors to be broken down and molded into a variety of new articles.
