The 150th anniversary of the Civil War kicks off this month and on Sunday the Nodaway County Historical Society Museum has a special presentation.
Titled "Eighty Years of Compromise That Failed" Retired history professor Tom Carneal will present a program on the start of the Civil War and its impact on our region. A re-enactment of a cavalry encampment will also be staged north of the museum. Cathy Palmer with the Historical Society says learning about our local involvement in the Civil war is difficult. The Civil War encampment and program starts Sunday at 2 at the museum in Maryville which is located at Walnut and 1st Street.
