Arbor Day Honoree

Nebraska City's 2011 Arbor Day Committee recognized Joel and Helen Lundak as this year's Arbor Day Honorees.

The award goes to individuals and community groups who have spent large amounts of time making Nebraska City and Otoe county a better place to live, through environmental or conservation improvements. Joel Lundak has planted over 2,400 flower bulbs around the Arbor Lodge State Historical Park. Both Helen and Joel have contributed to various activities and events at the Park such as fine arts shows, garden party and enchanted garden. They will be recognized during a commemorative tree planting at Arbor Lodge State Historical Park on Saturday April 30th at 9 a.m.
