Tuition Set

After a 5 hour meeting and at least 6 votes on various proposals, the Northwest Missouri State Board of Regents passes tuition increases for next year.

Rejecting a staff proposal, board members have voted on a total of a 4 and a half percent increase in tuition at the university for in-state undergraduate students and a 6 percent increase for out of state and graduate students. The board did approve staff recommendations of a 5 percent room and 2 percent board increase. Northwest like other universities and colleges in the state has faced shrinking state funding and increased enrollment in the last several years. The university plans on using a portion of the tuition increase to put back into student scholarships. The new fee structures take effect this Fall.
