Senators on Budget

Federal lawmakers are again approaching a deadline to agree on the budget before a government shut-down.

And both Missouri senators on the opposite sides of the aisle are agreeing on at least one thing: There should be cuts and compromise. Republican Roy Blunt says they are in this situation because both houses failed to pass any spending bills during the last congress. Blunt says government should look at results of programs instead of just costs. Democrat Claire McCaskill says lawmakers are focuses on the wrong issues. McCaskill says she will be targeting the Pentagon's budget, trying to cut what she calls "Waste" there.
