The St. Joseph Boy and Girls Scouts have collected 12,000 pounds of food at their annual scouting for food drive.
Scouts of all ages collected canned goods and non-perishable food items at 8 local grocery stores including Hyvee, Green Hills, Kovac's and Apple Market. Scouts greeted shoppers as they entered the stores and handed our flyers with a list of the most needed food items. The food collected will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank in St. Joseph and will be distributed this Summer across northwest Missouri when food and fund donations are at their lowest.
