Northwest Missouri leaders are meeting today in Maryville to move forward on high speed Internet infrastructure in the region.

This is the first meeting of the Northwest regional planning commission discussing the current status of broadband in Northwest Missouri, as well as obstacles our region faces. Wanda Seeney is with the state office of administration that's working with local officials. She says today's perspective will be from local officials in agriculture, economic development, healthcare, and public safety. The state will partner with local officials on funding and coming up with a strategic plans for broadband in rural northwest Missouri. Seeney says that process should take another 18 months.
