Mound City is spending more than $30,000 to upgrade streets in town.
The board this week approved contributing $31,500 to the street resurfacing project with other money up to $400,000 coming from a community development block grant. Snyder and associates will be doing the preliminary engineering report on the project. The city has also accepted a $2,500 check from the America's Farmers Grow Community Award, which will be used to buy a new diving board for the Mound City Pool. The Board of Aldermen have tabled discussion on replacing the storm drain outlet into Davis Creek with the two options being considered as plastic tube or concrete for that project.
