Meth Busts Up

Methamphetamine seizures are up across Missouri, and the Livingston County Sheriff's Department says north Central Missouri is no exception.

The Highway Patrol says there were 1,960 meth busts in the show-me state last year. A 10% increase from 2009 and a 53% increase from 2007. Deputy Kevin Lovewell works narcotics investigations for the Livingston County Sheriff's Office and says even the way meth is cooked in north central Missouri has changed in the last 5 years. Missouri once again leads the nation in meth lab busts, followed by Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, then Michigan.
