The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office is releasing information on an apparent meth lab take-down and arrest on Sunday.
According to the office a deputy received information that a suspected meth lab was operating in a residence in the 2600 block of South Main in Maryville. Deputies and Maryville Public Safety Officers say they arrived to an overwhelming chemical odor coming from the residents. Officials say fearing the safety of the neighbors, they went inside and found 37 year old Todd McClain coming out of the bathroom. In the bathtub officers say they discovered liqueds from several jars had been dumped and the water in the tub running. THey also confiscated several items used as drug paraphernalia and precursors in meth production. McClain has been charged with manufacturing of a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of a school and is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond. WHen he was arrested on Sunday McClain was out of jail on bond facing other criminal charges.
