MARYVILLE, MO (2011-03-01)
The city of Maryville is taking a long term look at planning.
The city council has developed a list of issues it says is important to the community, many of which involves collaboration. Council members want to plan events that will correlate with special events at the university in town, such as family day. Members also plan on finding alternative locations for the annual art festival and other outside events especially in case of rain organizing a city sporting event like a soccer tournament having an environmentally "Green" focus when it comes to future development, and even exploring a possible trolley to promote economic development and shopping. The Maryville City Council recognizes sponsorships might be necessary to help in making events happen. The list comes from a recent brainstorming retreat by the council.
