Sheriff Appointed

Chris Hughes of Keytesville will now be a part of the Missouri Sheriff Methamphetamine Relief Taskforce or "MO SMART". That group is responsible for administering funds to supplement hte salaries of county deputies in the state. Hughes as served as Chariton county's sheriff since 1997. He's also the vice-chairman of the North Missouri Drug Task Force serving 12 counties in north central and north east Missouri. Hughes appointment on the MO-SMART board is for a 2 year term.
