Regional Census Numbers

The census numbers are out and we now have an idea of which parts of our region are growing and which are not.

The following are the new population numbers for some of our bigger Missouri cities and the increase or decrease they have seen during the past decade. Bethany's population is now 3,292. with 205 new residents it's population has risen 6.6%. The population of Brookfield now stands at just more than 4,500 residents. It has had one of the larger decreases in the past 10 years losing 227 residents for a nearly 5% drop in population. Chillicothe's population is now at just over 9,500. There were 547 new residents for 6.1% increase. Cameron is now at 9,933. That's with 1,621 new residents in the last decade for a 19.5% increase. Maryville's population now stands at 11,972. 1,391 new residents arrived for a population increase of 13.1%. St. Joseph's population is now 76,780 residents. That's 2,790 more than 10 years ago for a 3.8% increase. Princeton saw a major jump. It's population is now 1,166 with 119 new people for a percentage increase of 11.4. Trenton had a drop. It's population is at 6,001. Trenton lost 215 residents in the last decade for a 3.5% decline. And Marceline took one of the biggest drops. There are now 2,233 people in Marceline but they lost 325 for a 13% decrease in that city's population.
