Polar Plunge Results

The fundraiser was part of the Polar Plunge held this past Saturday at Lake Contrary in St. Joseph. Organizers say they had to cut through 18 inches of ice for 200 participants to take the plunge. The top team this year was "Abby's Arctic Angels" named for Northwest Missouri State University student Abby Cockrill, who died in a car accident in Kansas City last August. Most every high school in St. Joseph as well as Chillicothe and Savannah were also competing to raise the most money. This year's winner was Bishop LeBlond High School contributing $3,000 to the Special Olympics.
