New Administrator

Jill Cornett has been chosen from a pool of 19 applicants to head the city of Savannah, which has its share of financial challenges after the resignation of the last administrator. Cornett comes from the city of independence, where she's worked as the contract compliance coordinator there. She's received her masters in public administration from the University of Missouri and has also been an assistant community manager at FT. Leavenworth. Tomorrow night the Savannah City Council meets and is expected to authorize the mayor to sign a contract with Cornett. Council members are also expected to issue contracts for upgrades on Cedar and Price Streets in Savannah and consider increasing the golf course fees. The meeting starts tomorrow night at 7 at the Clasbey Center.
