Maryville Courts Audit

Investigators say neither the municipal division nor Maryville Public Safety keeps adequate records of traffic and parking tickets and because of that, the court can't be sure all tickets issued are properly submitted or voided. Auditors found more than a thousand parking tickets issued in Maryville have gone unpaid. They also say the municipal division didn't properly reconcile the bond amount to the bond liabilities list which included insufficient funds checks totaling more than $1,500 that have been outstanding for more than 9 years. One was found taht was outstanding for more than 20 years. Overall however, state auditors declared the overall financial performance of the city of Maryville's municipal division "Good" which is the next to best ranking it could have received.
