The 129th field artillery unit is part of the state of emergency governor Nixon has put into place. Citizen soldiers in Maryville, Chillicothe, Albany, Independence, Marshall, and Richmond are at the bases now, getting equipment ready. Maryville headquarters administrative officer and battery commander in Chillicothe captain Ryan Jenkins says they are just waiting on orders. Jennings says the citizen soldiers at the 6 north Missouri bases are ready for the challenge indefinitely and will remain so as long as they are needed.
