Now, the library is taking the next step into the future: An I-Pad App to serve its growing base of patrons with mobile devices. The app can be used on I-Pads, I-Phones, or I-Pod touches allowing users to search the library's catalog, manage their accounts, and even reservce and renew books from their phone or mobile device. The application was developed internally by the library's automation and computer technician. About 65% of people who access the university's library catalog are now doing so with an I-Phone. The app is available at the I-Tunes App Store. Besides holding 250,000 books, the owens library in Maryville contains 30,000 E-books and access to 20,000 electronic full-text journals and magazines.
