The city requires all dogs older than 16 weeks to be licensed. The society calls compliance with shots and licensing for pets in Maryville "Lukewarm at Best" and fines are given if your pet is caught un-registered. Humane Society Shelter director Cindy Nelson says the shots involved in registration are a matter of health and safety. Dog licenses and information on requirements are available at the shelter in Maryville and at Maryville vVeterinary Clinic and Southpaws Veterinary Clinic.
