City manager Gary McClarnon says council members have apporved a measure to issue more bonds for LaPearla Street running into the soon to be completed Clarinda Regional Healthcare Center. The city plans to also use the bond money to replace old street department equipment and to re-finance about half a million dollars worth of bonds used for the Clarinda Library Project. McClarnon adds depending on how bids come in for the street equipment the city might just issue 2 to 2 and a half million in bonds rather than the full 3 million.
