The largest adult health study ever conducted in the state, the phone survey will reach more than 52,000 missourians. The foundation's program officer Matthew Kuhlenbeck says they are trying to find out about tobacco use, community demographics, physical activity, and nutrition. He says they are drilling down on a county by county basis. Organizers say the information gathered in the year-long survey will be used to assess whether community level efforts like smoking bans and awareness programs are reducing tobacco use and the health problems it causes.
