2011-01-21GENTRY COUNTY, MO | By: Wayman
Chris Moffat has been charged with first degree assault or attempted assault on a law enforcement officer or highway worker and one felony county of assault by means other than a deadly weapon. The Highway Patrol arrested Moffat yesterday. Gentry county prosecutor Jerry Biggs says officers responded to a possible hit and run before 4 O'clock yesterday morning. Reports indicate it was between Moffat and a snow plow near King City and during the investigation he allegedly pointed a rifle at the Gentry County Sheriff Deputy on the scene. Reports say the deputy, fearing for his life, shot toward Moffat, possibly injuring him. His condition is not available, but judge Edward Manring has issued a $100,000 cash-only bond against Moffat for the two felony assault charges he now faces.
