Boat Safety

Missouri law requires any person born after January 1st 1984, to carry a boating safety certification card along with a picture ID anytime they operate a vessel, which includes personal watercraft, on Missouri lakes. There will be no charge for these courses and classes will be held April 9th in St. Joseph and April 30th in Smithville. Highway Patrol Water Division sergeant Jerry Callahan says students who take these classes will learn valuable information. Any student who successfully passes this course will be eligible to order the boating safety certification card. Students are required to pre-register online at the Missouri Highway Patrol's website as seating will be limited.
