Robbery Story

Now, he's in jail. St. Joseph Police say 21 year old Nathaniel Shoemaker was working at the Hickory Farms Store and told them a robber had taken cash and stabbed him. He was treated for a minor cut to his leg. But after investigating, police have arrested Shoemaker, saying he made the story up to hide the fact he took cash from the store. They also connected him to a previous theft of cash at Hickory Farms late last month as well. Shoemaker is now charged with two counts of felony stealing in this case. He's also a suspect in felony theft from his previous employer. His bond is set at $25,000.
