The power company wants to raise nearly 98 million dollars in revenue and says the typical residential electric customer could see an increase in their monthly bill b about 15 extra dollars. KCP&L is also asking permission to increase another charge on the statement, the "FAC" charge. That would mean around 13 dollars a month extra per average bill. Tonight's public hearing is required by state regulators before they approve or deny the rate hike plan. It will be at the Carrollton Public Library starting at 5:30 this evening.
