Murder Suspect Captured

21 year old Calvin Ford was arrested in Kansas City about 1 O'clock this morning. He's the main suspect from the case where 18 year old Jordan Bartram was sitting in a car on Lafayette Street in St. Joseph about 10:30 Tuesday night when a hail of about 10 gun hosts rang out from a blue car with several people inside. She was hit and later died after surgery. The shooting is the latest in a string of such cases in St. Joseph during the past several months with houses and even a school bus hit with bullets. Police captain Kevin Castle says the death comes as the main suspect and another group continue to target each other not the public. Investigators say Ford was out on probation for a previous weapon charge and is from St. Joseph but frequents Kansas City. Also picked up in the early morning arrest was 21 year old Armon Thompson of Kansas City. Castle says it's hoped with this morning's arrests the shootings in St. Joseph might de-escalate.
