The license for Cooper Nuclear in Brownville Nebraska was going to expire in 2014 but the nuclear regulatory commission has extended that another 20 years. Cooper nuclear experienced a series of staff training concerns by federal regulators several years ago, but an inspection this Summer found no such concerns. The Auburn Nebraska Chamber of Commerce is holding a community celebration in recognition of the 20 year license renewal. It will be at the plant's emergency operations facility on Central Avenue in Auburn next Wednesday evening. That starts at 5.
