TARKIO, MO (2010-12-13) A two week project begins today to paint a bridge half way between Tarkio and Burlington Junction.
Weather pending, crews will be working on the bridge over Long Branch Creek. That's on Route M about 5 miles North of Highway 136. Workers will be removing rust from the bridge then painting the structural steel on the underneath side of the bridge, which will give it a protective coating. For the next two weeks, Highway M at the Long Branch Creek Bridge will be anrrowed to one lane at various times while the work is ongoing. The restoration and preservation is one of ten bridge projects in Northwest Missouri expected to cost about $760,000.
