The governor has charged colleges to increase student attainment, both getting students to come back and graduation rates. Northwest Missouri State University president Dr. John Jasinski says the Maryville school is well positioned with it's roll, out of the "Foundations of Excellence" program specifically targeting freshmen. He says it's not just about enrollment. Jasinski says the freshman success rate at Northwest Missouri State is 74% which is 12% higher than other schools in Northwest Missouri. He points to a graduation rate at 58% at Northwest which beats the national average of 45% as well as other regional schools. In newscasts tomorrow we will hear about taking a second look at programs being offered at Northwest.
