Hide Collections

Now, the Elks Lodge in Maryville is taking that one step further. This is the first year the lodge here is collecting the deer hides then donating them so veterans confined to wheelchairs can use them in occupational therapy, making leather wallets, belts, and clothing. Head of the Maryville Elks Lodge says so far they have collected 60 hides for the program. Anyone wanting to donate the waste deer hides can drop them off at the Maryville Elks Lodge on Main Street in Maryville. There are blue barrels on the east side of the building.
