Only seven undergraduate majors and one masters level major will be phased out. The reduction comes at the request of Missouri Higher Education Officials to all colleges and universities to eliminate under used courses. All Fall under the low completion category, meaning just a small handful of students have graduated from the programs in the last several years. Northwest Missouri State provost Dr. Doug Dunham says it comes down to tough budget times. Dunham says Northwest is working with other universities in Missouri to partner on sharing teachers to save some programs with lower enrollment. Northwest will also help existing students affected to make sure they can still graduate with their degree.
