The sale for $750,000 is for the building and its lot donated to the district from Kenneth Churchill. Churchill gave the building to the R-2 District for its use or to sell whichever the board chose. Superintendent Dr. Linda Gray Smith says selling will save the district about $30,000 a year in utility costs. She says the money from the sale will go into the capital improvement fund, which can then be used to repair existing builidngs within the Chillicothe R-2 District ro used to construct new buildings. It's unknown when the district will vacate the building.
