Chillicothe Taxes

The council votes to keep property tax rates unchanged. Members voted against a proposal to raise it just above 85 cents instead opting to keep the city tax rate at slightly above 84 cents per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation. The Chillicothe council also formed a committee of 4 people to investigate stabilizing the Old Leeper Hotel building. The historic structure in need of repairs has been a target of the Main street Chillicothe Organization, which is trying to save it for its historic architecture and future use. The Leeper committee should report back to the city council with options later this month.
