Called "School Dude", it allows any staff member in the schools to request maintenance or technology help. This includes everything from phones to smartboards and of course computers. The service keeps track of how quickly problems are being addressed, and can be accessed by administrators and even Brookfield school board members. The district has close to 900 computers on its network on nearly 40 real and virtual servers. The "School Dude" technology was showcased at the recent R-3 board meeting. Members also unanimously passed the district's "Staff/student relations" policy, which outlines prohibited activities by Brookfield R-3 employees with students.
