Nodaway Enhanced Enterprise Zone

Yesterday afternoon local township and government leaders as well as school districts met to learn more about the proposed EEZ which was created by the state and gives new tax incentivies for certain industry that move into the EEZ. The local area chooses which industries to offer the incentives to as long as the new company creates at least 2 new jobs. Lee Langerock is the economic developer for Nodaway County and says it's a great tool if the community agrees to create one. Driving the discussion are two win farm companies wanting to see what kind of tax breaks they can get before starting to build in Nodaway County. Local government leaders expect the discussions on the proposal to continue the next few months.
