New Broadband

Governor Jay Nixon is scheduled to be in Maryville later this afternoon to make the announcement. The project is expected to connect $660,000 homes and businesses to high-speed internet. It's expected to help homes, businesses, schools, law enforcement, and hospitals. Earlier we reported on two grants and loans to united electric cooperative to create the network in 6 Counties in Northwest Missouri. Today the governor is using that project as well as a project by blue bird media to promote the "Mo Broadband Now" initiative. We'll have more on the governor's announcement and what it means for rural Missouri economic development on newscasts tomorrow here on 90.5 and 88.9 FM.
