That's the message from governor Jay Nixon as he made the announcement yesterday in Maryville. The initiative helps united electric co-op and another company from columbia create a high-bandwith broadband network in more than 60 Northern Missouri Counties. Nixon likens the future changes to transformation created by railroads in the 19th century and interstate highways in the 20th. Construction on the high-speed broadband infrastructure should start in the spring, with completion in North Central and Northwest Missouri in about 3 years.
