Decker Charged

Court documents reveal Greg Decker faces 3 counts of theft or stealing property less than $500 in value. Felony charges include second degree burglary, tampering with a motor vehicle, and theft of property. Highway patrol investigators say 29 times, Decker purchased thousands of dollars in materials using city money for his own personal use between April 2008 and June 22nd of this year. They believe in March he forged another city employee's signature on one purchase, saying it was to correct violations at the city transfer station. There's no record of violations found at that site. Decker was let go as head of Maryville's public works on June 1st. But investigators say he used the city's end loader to put gravel rock in his trailer the day after he was let go, and again on June 17th and 22nd. Decker has posted the $10,000 bond on the charges. A special prosecutor from Atchison County has been apointed to the case.
