The city's efforts to build the Silver Moon Plaza won the group's award for "Best Downtown Public Improvement". The main street Chillicothe organization also took the award for "Top Facade Rehabilitation Project under $10,000" with the upgrades to the non-profit thrift clothing store "Threads" in downtown Chillicothe. Chillicothe's mural project won the "Outstanding Public Partner Award" for the mix of public and private funding. Also in North Missouri Kirksville won the best adaptive-reuse preservation project category for turning the historic traveler's hotel into office and living space.
