Gentry Co Audit

Inspectors found weak controls to ensure bills for items coming into Gentry County were actually received and the word "paid" wasn't stamped or written on actual invoices.

State statute also requires counties to established an investment policy- the audit found Gentry County still doesn't have one.

Other findings include failure to prepare an annual budget for the Sheriff's Civil Fees Fund or the Children's Trust Fund back in 2006.

Gentry County officials say they are putting measures in place to comply with the deficiencies state auditors found.
