Gage's Fertilizer and Grain Incorporated will have to pay 175 thousand dollars to the U-S Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Federal investigators say Gage's failed to register as a futures commission merchant and an associate with the company failed to register, even though it was accepting option contracts from January 2004 through December of 2008.
The company is based in Stanberry.
The fine is broken down into 75 thousand dollars in civil penalty and 1 hundred thousand for what the judgment calls "ill-gotten gains".
